Chix Choix Starlight Parti

BIS BISS Ch. Chic Choix Sky's The Limit

Born on Feb.6th, 2006 and bred by Mr. Juha Kares of Chic Choix fame in Finland. Adorable and sweet "Sky" as we call him at home, was the one who introduced me to the amazing world of Lhasa apsos and should I also say to the international dog show scene.

One could tell Sky was very special since he was a baby and the success we had in the show ring was unbelievable: out of 8 shows he attended in the puppy class, he went Best in Show puppy 7 times, followed by 11 Best in Show junior wins from the junior classes. He became World Junior Winner in 2006 and European Junior Winner in 2007 (incl. BIS junior). By the age of 2, he had already won 10 all breed Best in Shows, totaling 26 in 14 different countries throughout his show career, the highlight of it being Best in Show win at the famous Finnish Winner show in 2007 over the entry of 8500 dogs. He finished as #2 dog all breeds in Finland the following year, always shown by myself. The greatest success came basically after my return from the USA where I had a chance to learn so much from Mrs. Susan S. Giles of Ta Sen fame. So Sky finished American Champion title as well. He was also awared AOM at the ALAC National Specialty. I was a young and very ambitious girl loving adventure back in those days and together with Sky travelled a lot in showing in my home country Lithuania as well as Latvia, Estonia, Russia, Belorus, Poland, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, France, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary,  Ukraine, Romania, Moldova, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Macedonia, Bulgaria, USA, Canada, Puerto Rico, finishing 23 national Champion titles. The Americas & Caribean Winner 2012 show held in Puerto Rico was one of his last show appearances where he won Best of Breed. Some of his other memorable wins were European Winner 2008 (BOB and Group 2) and World Winner 2012 ( BOB and Group 2). The Sky's The Limit...this dog really lived up to his name. I still get tears in my eyes when I remember. He wasn't an easy dog to show, in fact one of the hardest I have had! He was a demanding little person and having him on a lead meant plenty of goosebumps.

Besides of being a stunningly beautiful specimen of the breed he had a tender and sensitive nature and one day i felt enough was enough. We had seen and went through so much together. The more i got involved in the breed, the more it was obvious he did not enjoy living in the pack. Retired as early as 6 years old, he has been living as a happy spoiled single house dog of my dear grandmother since. Being used in breeding very selectively, Sky has produced some beautiful Champion offspring. He is the sire of our litters M, R and P.
